Tenugui is a Japanese towel or cloth that was used for general household chores until it was replaced with more practical to use modern cleaning materials. The tenugui is still made, but now is printed with a wide range of designs from traditional Japanese fabric prints to Star Wars. We have a interesting group of the Star Wars Tenugui on sausalitoferry.com that we bring in from Japan. Printed on linen 100% cotton fabric with water based inks, each towel is 36" long and 13 1/2" wide.
Still reflecting their humble origins, the Star Wars Tenugui have unfinished edges. Without the finished seam, the rags could be easily torn into pieces to suit the job at hand.
