Sausalito Bicycle Information
For bike riders coming into Sausalito looking for the Ferry Landing, make a right on El Portal Way. It is the first right that you can make after entering downtown Sausalito. You will know if you have missed the turn when you go past a park with a fountain on your right hand side. After turning on El Portal Way, you will see the bike parking area on your left. There will be Bike Representatives ready to help you with your bike and any questions you have about bike parking and the ferries. Bike parking costs $3.00. You will need to get a bike token for each bike to secure a place on the ferry for the ride back to San Francisco.
In addition to the bike tokens, you will need to purchase ferry tickets for human passengers separately. For the Golden Gate Ferries to the San Francisco Ferry Building, you can purchase tickets at the vending machines at the Sausalito terminal. For Blue and Gold Ferries to Pier 41 at Fisherman's Wharf, you can purchase tickets once you board the ferry but not at the vending machines.
Tickets for Golden Gate Ferry and Blue and Gold are interchangeable and are good on either system.
Clipper Card is a discount prepaid card that can be used on almost all San Francisco Bay Area transit systems. Cards can be bought at Golden Gate Ferry vending machines at the landings, Walgreen Drugs, Whole Food Stores and other dealers. Cost of the card is $3.00 and what ever additional amount that you load on it.
