Chasing the opium smugglers he encountered in Cigars of the Pharaoh to China, Tintin finds himself embroiled in multiple deceptive plots: who are the enemies and who are the allies in this twilight tale?

In this adventure, our hero befriends Chang, a young Chinese boy who helps him to overcome his past prejudices.

Having gained a friend for life by solving the riddle from the previous adventure, Tintin finds himself at odds with Rastapopoulos, now his sworn enemy…

First published in black and white in Le Petit Vingtiéme under the title Les Aventures de Tintin en Extrême-Orient, The Blue Lotus was published as a 124 page book by Casteman in 1936.

Considered by specialists to be Hergé first masterpiece in terms of scenario, graphics and documentation, this adventure sealed the friendship between its author and the sculptor Chang Chong-chen and, above all, Hergés desire to be open to differences and to draw inspiration from them.

In this newly colourised version, we rediscover this adventure in a palette of new colors whose nuances particularly enhance night scenes, revealing the intensity of the action and the beauty of the vignettes.

The adaptation is preceded by a preface by Hergéologue Philippe Goddin.
