Tintin, Moon Rocket Watch, Black Band, Large
Elon Musk says that the design inspiration for his BFR Mars Heavy Lifter came directly from the red and white checked rocket in Herge's moon series books. Considering that Destination Moon and Explorers on the Moon were respectively published in 1953 and 1954, Herge was truly ahead of his time in his depiction of space travel that we take so granted for today.
You and I will never be rich enough to have a fleet of rockets, but you can have a watch made by Moulinsart, the maker of all things Tintin, with the Herge's moon rocket on the face. And that, will be good enough for the rest of us.
Soft and supple silicon band does not chafe the wrist and is easy to clean. The hour and minute hands glow in the dark which is useful on space adventures. The earth rotates around the face once a minute. Water resistant to 10 ATM, which is helpful not only in water, but in cold harsh space.
Case is 48mm (1.9") across and the band is 248mm (9.75") long. Mineral glass face, stainless steel back and battery powered Japanese movement.
